Qualifying for Team Canada

  1. This will be the first Year CISA will run an invitation style qualifier. The top finishing teams in Canada from various tournament trails and former Canada Bass members will be invited. The event itself will be a no entry fee tournament with no payout structure. The international competition initiatives that we are part of are “not-for-profit” bass tournaments where various countries represent their nations, competing for gold, silver and bronze medals and trophies. The ultimate goal is to grow the sport of competitive bass fishing around the world. Fishing for Canada against other Nations is an experience like no other!

Qualifying for the Pan American Championships

· A qualifying 2-day event will be held annually in Ontario at a venue agreed to by the board to select up to 8 pairs of anglers and 1 alternate pair that will form the following year’s team.

- The latest version of the Pan American Black Bass Championship Rules will be used.

· Invites will be sent to:

- the top 10 AOY teams of tournament series across Canada identified by the board;

 - past team members from previous years;

- anglers of selected National tours approved by the board.

· The board may designate up to two pairs of anglers to the team without going through the qualifier.

- the pairs named must support the mission and growth of CISA.

· All qualifier competitors must become class “B” members of CISA by paying annual membership dues and signing a code of conduct approved by the board.

· If a team becomes a single angler from disciplinary reasons, the remaining team member may invite any former Canada Bass team member (with the approval of the board) to join the team.

· Following the qualifying tournament, offers will be made to the successful teams and delegates.

- If any successful team declines the offer, the next highest-ranking team will be given the offer.

· Either a Team Captain (team member) will be appointed through a vote within the qualifying team members; and/or a Team Manager will be appointed through a vote within the board. The Team Captain/Team Manager is responsible for the following:

- Attending all captain meetings at the event and accurately relaying all information to the team.

o Making decisions to substitute team members during competition.

Qualifying for the World Championships

· The top four teams ranked by total weight at the Pan American Championships will be invited to the Black Bass World Championships (3 teams + 1 Alternate team) for the following year.

- If any successful team declines the offer, the alternate team will be promoted to the team and the next highest-ranking team will be promoted to the alternate position.
